(iom Sensitive Label)

Group and music label founded in 1999 by Idoia Zubia (AKA Izu), a french singer and composer living in Barcelona, and Mathieu Chauvin (AKA MTC), a french composer and pianist living in Marseille.
Both components are trained in visual arts and music. They started 3 years ago a fruitful collaboration based on exploring colors and textures of abstract voices and experimental landscapes.

Their influences are wide: from contemporary composers as Gyorgy Ligeti, to the noisy electronic compositions of Merzbow or Stockhausen&Walkman, and also avant-garde french jazz and the improvised music of Sainkho Namtchylak among other colectives.

Now they are developing stronger rhythms, in the search of each time more original and organic textures, with concrete voices and sounds nearer to reality.
They are going to play some of their vocal works included into the "Vocal diary 01" and the "Vocal diary 02". These are compositions conceived like an intimate diary, as paintings made from feelings and destined to provoke synesthesic emotions.

mortenson (es)

Mortenson is currently a one-woman band playing live concerts (or abstract dj-sets); experimenting widely from beat boxing to dusty organs and lush noises from loose cables. The music is melancholically brave with twisted beats, breaks and soundscapes of real life recordings. Crisp samples and layers of melodies are webbed into each other, varied with (reversed) vocals on top. Live on stage she takes use of machines, effect units, instruments and special-built microphones. Mortenson is the Resident Artist of LEM festival 2003.

honeychild (us)
Jane D'Arensbourg (us)

Honeychild and visual artist Jane D'Arensbourg (BROOKLYN, USA): In this collaborative project, both artists bring together the concept of sonic and visual layering via video and slide projections combined with live loops of voice, guitar, and beats.

"Thrash diva Honeychild (Carolyn Coleman) brings to mind Miriam Makeba meeting Bjork in the Sex Pistols’ basement" * Her ballads
sensually dive into the complexities of human relationships. Her charismatically real stage presence makes the often misunderstood
angst of "alternative" music alluring. With varied influences including the Throwing Muses, Chrissie Hynde and Sarah Vaughn, her sets lend the audience a powerful mezzo-soprano spiral, running from whisper to
wail, with which she accompanies herself on guitar, dulcimer, and vocal and instrumental loops. As a result, Honeychild has collaborated with various musicians and DJs ranging from dub, jungle, ambient, and trip hop to electronic rock. In her solo electronic project, she cultivates "beautiful noise, chaos, and gritty structure" with hints of rock elements.
infierno blanco (es)

Infierno Blanco was born in a dj. Session of Max Sanjulian in Barcelona at the beguining of 2002…
”maybe in overdose I connected the headphones in the input and Infierno began to speak…was a spontaneous necessity to speak….to say some things…. especially after the big hole in Manhattan…”one groupie also near the end follows making chorus and dancing like crazy…after other girl and after…other an after…after-hours….”the firsts are over… the next is coming…one song one lover one relationship and an image”
…still without songs "Infierno" began to make pictures about his attitude…songs or pictures or movies all like the same …digital stuff…in this way began the artist project or the life project of Infierno Blanco…
October2002, cover of the second Spanish newspaper "LA LUNA in EL MUNDO"…after some concerts…success…the reality and fiction began to be confused voluntary and involuntary….after… will see
Confused, Max moves to New York where is now living…there, Infierno was contracted for Codek Records for participate in the compilation Repellent Sounds of NY…

wy (be)

Wy fiddles at home with recordings she makes just about everywhere, from sticking a microphone in the fridge to recording her brother when he was working on his truck, while he was cursing in some (my) strange dialect called West-Vlaams. Out come sounds which people have described as being filmic and evocative. Fully armed with her microphone, casiotone and kaos pad she will give a solo concert for the first time...

Wy is Wendy Van Wynsberghe, a steady resident of Brussels, a city she also envelopes in her job, Brussels belongs to us, a living library of conversations about life and the city (http://www.bna-bbot.be). She also has a radioshow called Storing (interference) with Karen Vanderborght, and they play and DJ together as DJ WenKar (http://www.fatalimagefatale.org/djWenkar.html).

" .....what are thoses strange forms? do I hear well those strange melodies? where does it come from? it looks like organic with some electromagnetic life ! that video and sound together form such a bizare 6 (or more) dimentional matter... well, i'm not sure to realy understand what I receive with my senses .... but in a way... it's not unpleasant :) ...

irradiation (at)

since 1999 irradiation has been working on her definition of electronic music. while developing her style she sometimes turns around 180° degrees. so you will hear crispy 8bit drumsounds besides soft pads, dubby hypnotic baselines over minimal breakbeats. she uses song structures, mainly when she sings, to break them off the next moment.

one of her marks is the way she makes use of vocal-samples. micro-cuts out of movies, tv-shows, radio transmissions or whatever she finds are cut up and remapped.irradiation's music moves between trash, humor and seriousness.

osso bucco (us/es)

osso bucco is Nyc born, Florida bred and Barcelona based sonic artist gregg kowalsky's solo project. His music weaves back and forth between ambient noise and digital harmony, which appears to be the focus of the compositions. The textures he creates from overlapping repetitive sounds, digital clicks and processed layers provide the backdrop to the subtle, introspective melodies. His compositions are sometimes described as sound collages, which contain source material from unlikely recordings. He is in the process of recording a split ep with Swedish artist, Kristofer Strom, that will be released on Nosordo in Autumn 2003. It will contain textural ambient pieces with processed folk guitar themes and sensibilities.
